It’s that time of year again! February has arrived, and the Safari Club International is hosting its Annual Hunters’ Convention at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. As always, you can find a little bit of everything at the convention this year, from our very own electronic hearing protectors to a host of other hunting gear and accessories from outfitters all across the nation.
Attendees can also participate in a series of educational seminars that cover a wide variety of topics related to hunting, fishing and wildlife conservation. With all the classes at this year’s convention, you could just about get a degree in outdoorsmanship after spending the week in Vegas. A few highlights from this year’s lineup include Fierce Fishes of the Amazon, Hunting buffalo in Today’s Africa, and Hearing Loss in Hunting and Shooting Sports.
For many people, the auction house is the big draw at SCI’s annual convention. In addition to winning one of a kind hunting gear, auction participants can also win trips to exotic hunting destinations all over the world. This year’s trips include a 10-day mountain goat hunt in British Columbia, and a 4-day Kri Kri Ibex hunt in Greece. SCI is also hosting online auctions this year for people who won’t be there to bid in person.
